Personal Statement

 From my first “5,6,7,8” to now the silence of audiences at the top of a show my love for the arts runs deep. I would not be who I am today if it wasn't for acting. It wasn't always like that though I actually never thought that I would become an actor or even participate in theatre. It was only one day after a stern talk with my mom about how I play Fortnite too much while I was walking into 9th grade orientation. Next thing I know the first class on my schedule was Beginning Theatre. And no I did not sign up for it! 7 years later and I have been in numerous things from children plays to student films to musicals. Playing these characters helps me with the baggage in my life because even though its not my life it could be happening to a friend , audience member , relative. It helps remind me to be grateful that I have this talent. To not be selfish and use it  just for entertainment purposes but to help , persuade, and inform others. My goal  as an actor is to not just let the art speak for itself but let my work raise uncomfortable conversations , fix communities, mend bonds, and give a platform to those who don't have one.
